Thanks to Disney and LumaLaser, Kohr Productions had the perfect opportunity to work on one of the world's coolest projects of all time! The TRON - Legacy Premier at Disney's, El' Captain Theater in Hollywood, CA. and we would like to share it with you.

DEC.11.2010 -TRON BLUE CARPET EVENT

The first part of the production was the outdoor "Blue Carpet" event for the movie's fans, stars and press. It is an age old tradition for the fans to be held back as the stars to walk beautifully down the magical red carpet. But for Tron, it had to be blue.

We were tasked with lighting up the jumbo "Tron Identity Disk" on top of the El' Captain marquee as well as the Hollywood Masonic Temple (a.k.a. the Jimmy Kimmel Live Building) with laser light from the top of the Kodiak Theater. Time was sort and Tim and Matt of LumaLaser made quick work of getting the high-tech laser hardware in place and working. In the mean time Cory was back in the hotel-studio programming away. Using Adobe Illustrator, 3D Studio max and Pangolin's LC Max Plug-In. We were able to create a prefect image map of the building. We then drew and animated what we needed on the fly. Since time was very short we went with the Tron style architectural outlines on the Mason Temple and added another projector to do the logo and fill animations.

We also installed and programmed 4 LaserAnimation Blue/Yellow projectors for the blue carpet street beams.

Right after the event ended we struck the show and moved everything back into the El' Cap Theater.

DEC.17.2010 - TRON LEGACY: PREMIRE EVENT

Tron Laser show

Working under the Direction of Barnette Ricci and Brian Gale we designed a show that was truly Tron Inspired. The theater was small enough to make it personal and big enough to share it with others.. and it sounded fantastic.

The Laser show featured 6 high powered state-of-the-art, Sollinger Laser projectors, mirror balls, bounce mirrors, beam rail and DG effects as well as state-of-the-art LED lighting units and traditional lighting effects. With over 100 watts of laser power we energized the theater with a massive amount of laser and lighting artistry. All powered by 6 Pangolin lasershow control systems, linked via fiber optics to the main show computer.
